Special Announcement:

Dear Clients and Friends,

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our firm’s President, Gregory T. Reardon. He passed away while surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 5, 2010.

As many of you are aware, Greg underwent esophageal surgery in May of 2009 after a routine endoscopy found that his GI reflux caused the development of Barrett’s Esophagus. Greg’s follow up scans remained clear until June 2010 when the scans and related biopsies revealed he had metastatic cancer of the liver and various other organs. Greg’s original prognosis indicated that with medical intervention, even though palliative in nature, his life expectancy could be about 12 to 18 months.

Immediately, Greg began researching his options and seeking other medical opinions. In July, Greg completed several rounds of additional tests and worked with his wife Jean to select a plan of action and create a series of next steps. Very typical of Greg, he had a plan. His intent was to have a timeline created and in place by August 15th, schedule his treatments by August 31st, notify family, friends, clients and begin treatments in September, wrap up his treatments sometime in November and then place the balance of the plans in God’s hands.

Unfortunately, around August 15th, Greg began suffering from esophageal spasms, which made eating and drinking nearly impossible. His inability to eat or drink contributed to his calcium levels reaching dangerous limits such that on August 25th, 26th and 27th Greg began making daily trips to his physicians’ offices to receive intravenous rehydration therapy and necessitating the acceleration of the start of his chemotherapy treatments to August 30th. However, Greg’s condition quickly deteriorated in a matter of days to the point his physicians placed him in hospice care on August 31st.

Stunned by the severity and rapid decline of Greg’s health, his family switched into emergency mode and quickly mustered up the courage to help Greg and focus on making his last days with them as comfortable as possible. Then in a blink of an eye, Greg was gone. We share your grief and disbelief. Words can not express how grateful we are for all of your support throughout this extremely difficult time.

With Greg’s passing, our firm’s torch will pass on to his wife, Thelma J. Reardon as Managing Shareholder and daughter, Shawn J. Dorsett who is one of the Firm’s Principals and Vice-President. Shawn will assume the role of President and carry on the legacy and the operations of the Firm.

Please bear with us as we take up the torch and implement new ideas and changes.

Sincerely Yours,

The Staff and Colleagues of The Reardon Group
